Hydroplane Scare

Yesterday I hydroplaned for the first time! I'm no longer a hydroplane virgin I guess you could say. I was making a left turn and it just started raining and as I was making the left turn my back end went all the way into the other lane! Luckily no one was in that lane and I was able to recover it. It happened right in front of a cop too!

It's happened to me also and when it did, it scared me half to death. I'm glad no one was in that other lane and you were able to recover it. Was your GF in the truck when this happened?

Thankfully no, but my friend was and it made me feel good when he said I handled it well. I didn't panic on the outside but I was on the inside! I just did what I learned in driver's ed and it paid off because I was able to stop the hydroplane and recover in time to stop from any vehicle damage.

The key is not to panic but sometimes that's easier said then done. Again, I'm glad you stayed calm and no damage was done to your truck. I'm also glad your GF wasn't in the truck at the time!
