Have you've ever met some?





I just got banned off of a forum website because someone asked for my website URL in the shout out box so I PMed it to them. Then that person opened their mouth and got other people to join the site. And I understand that it is advertising even though I didn't do it intentionaly I don't mind paying for my actions. So anyways I got banned for advertising, then maybe about half an hour after I got banned on the website, the same person that asked me for my url (and by the way they got warned for sending others to come on my site) asked someone else to send them the url of there site in the chatbox the admin that banned me told him that he was allowed to do it this once, but if he sends it to anyone else he's banned.



How fair is that?



Anyways what are your stories about hypocritical administrator? And what are your thoughts on them?

Sounds like that admin see's you as some real competition if he banned you instantly and let others slide. Either way, if someone was asking for your URL, I suppose that isn't advertising... unless you were talking about your forum in hopes of getting new members. Its a tricky issue to police, which is why the admin should have a pm convo with you to get to the bottom of the story before he takes any action. If you are a first time offender, he/she should just give you a polite reminder of the rules.

There is loads of unethical administrators out there who make up rules as they go along, punish people based on their mood, practice favoritism, etc..

An admin is entitled to run their forum like that just as much as the members are entitled to logout and never come back.

Any flaming or trolling will result in suspended accounts.

The above is a rule on a forum that banned me. I wasn't the one flaming and trolling. The two administrators of this forum were the ones doing it. Every post or topic I made, they were both right there insulting me and putting me down. I finally had enough and defended myself in one of the threads. Bingo, they were on me in a heartbeat with an email that my account and IP address were banned. The reason was for flaming and trolling. Would also like to add that it wasn't only the Admins doing this to myself and other members. There were two moderators that are guilty of it too.

Just something to remember, you have no rights on forums. What you have are privileges which can and will be revoked the moment they get in the way of a corrupt staff team.



If you come across such a place like that then just click the X and move on. Those forums always fail in the end so just keep that in mind when you leave.



I haven't dealt much with this lately but then again I don't go to a lot of forums anyways so that's probably why.

Well I wasn't really talking about it to get people to join.. A member just asked me what I was doing and I said I was cleaning up my forum, then the member asked for my URL so I pmed it to him and another guy who both asked for it, and one of them gave it out to the other members.



The admin didn't warn me they banned me and told me I was banned for good. My warning level was at 0 and I never got warned or anything before. So I think it's unfair to ban me without even notifying me anything.



However he does think my website is a threat because no offence but I feel like he has favourites and so does other members. Plus he doesn't really do much for the site but expect it to get popular... Eitherway it's not up to me to say what he does or doesn't do, but I would see why he thinks I'm a threat. Though I'm not because my forum is just to have fun and interact.
