I think it'd be pretty cool to do.

If I printed those at a high quality, it'd come out about 17x60

I go to different places in World of Warcraft that I think look cool, and use console commands to turn the graphics past what's considered Ultra in game, then take a bunch of screenshots, put them together in photoshop, and toy with the colors until they look the way I want. Here's a detailed guide I wrote.
