Today I had to have a TB test done for work. Basically they inject your arm with some chemical.

If you have a reaction to it.. Like a huge swelled up bubble appears where they injected you, then you have it. If nothing happens then you dont have it.

We have to do it every 4 years. Ive been there 4 years, so another test was due. Just like last time, nothing happened. So, I guess I dont have it.

One lady (who is afraid of needles) was freaking out.. It was funny. When they gave her the shot she screamed. No need to be so dramatic. It only takes a second.

I have to go back on Thursday so they can examine my arm.

I thought that they inject a chemical right up under a few layers of your skin which causes the bubble in the skin....if the bubble is still there a few days later then you have TB.....?????

Tuberculin Skin Test

A tuberculin skin test is done to see if you have ever had tuberculosis (TB). The test is done by putting a small amount of TB protein (antigens) under the top layer of skin on your inner forearm. If you have ever been exposed to the TB bacteria (Mycobacterium tuberculosis), your skin will react to the antigens by developing a firm red bump at the site within 2 days.

LOL, that's funny how dramatic people get sometimes. Also no, they inject your arm with a chemical.

That's what we said...they inject it in your arm! lol

@Jazzy Thanks for the lesson! We had most of it right! Just the outcome was incorrect! I know they give it to us in the Navy like once a year, every year it doesn't even form a bubble lol..or it forms the bubble but like 10 minutes later the bubble is gone lol..But yeah! Fun times!

I had no bubble.

I guess we're all safe now Nebulous!
