Right, so earlier tonight at work. Right around the time I'm about to head out. I was getting a little pressed for time. And I didn't really want to be there 20 to 30 minutes over like I've been doing. Not to mention how warm it is. And so, I ask the over night cleaner guy if he'd be willing to help me out by helping bring in carts with me. He says 'yeah, sure'. But a talk with a manager was needed first. And so, I go find him. And he's all 'No, he's got way too much to do tonight.' And its *pardon my language* some straight up bullshit that I'm forced to do this on my own. Even when he knows how warm it is. And the potential for a heat stroke. Asshole doesn't even bother to offer me his help. And yet, when he or another manager asks one us to help them out. We're pretty much expected to do it. Sure we can say no. But they are more then likely to find another one of us to get.

And yet, when we need the help. Its no where to be found. Some damn bullshit this is. Really makes me miss this one manager we had. Who was always willin' to help out. Even if it put him or someone else a bit behind. Now I get the clean up guy has shit to do. But it would have only taken possibly 10 minutes more or less if that to bring them in with me. Hell same if the Manager would have helped out. Don't ya just love Comradry in the work force?

End Rant.

Unfortunately, there are managers who feel it's beneath them to push carts or do menial jobs. Some have the attitude that if you need to ask for help, then you're not doing your job. What they don't realize is that it takes teamwork to get a job done.

You say you didn't feel like being there 20 to 30 minutes over like you've been doing. Let me ask you this, do you get paid for the extra 20 or 30 minutes?

I believe so, but its not all that much in the end. I had like 408 in the last check I believe cause I kept staying a bit over. Unlike other times, my check would usually be close to 380. Which I might be wrong on.

I could understand your rant better if you weren't getting paid the extra time.

Its not really about the pay side of things. I think any 30 minute over time for example. You only get a little extra in the check. But its not about the pay. Its about asking for help and not getting it. Not to mention from what I understand. They DON'T want us going over time. Yet that seems to happen anyway. So how do I go about going over if I'm not getting much help?

This is a question only the manager can answer. Have you asked him this question?

No, mostly cause I hadn't thought about asking it o.0

Perhaps next time it happens, you will remember to ask him this question.

I might just do that! Hopefully it doesn't get me in trouble somehow.
