If you were elected mayor, what's the first thing that you would try to change about your town?

The way people drive. We have some horrible drivers in my town, so I'd say more law enforcement. We have a Sheriff's office, but it's small. City police help out too, but not enough. Cars speed, never use signals, and just don't care about other drivers on the road. My sister drives us to school and we see a lot of stuff. Hopefully with more police presence it'd stop people's bad driving. It's not even that they can't stay in their lane or drive, they just don't care.

The budget would be my first priority. As mayor I would adopt a budget that would ensure funds have been appropriated and utilized correctly.



Right now where I live, we are being taxed to death. The property and school taxes have gone up while the property values have gone done and they just closed a school in my area.The town where I live wastes money on unnecessary road maintenance ( for example: plowing and sanding when the roads only have a dusting of snow). I have seen road crews just standing around smoking and drinking coffee while only one crew member was filling a pot hole!

The current mayor has no clue how to appropriate funds

Erm... stop the fuss about the town market. Make more bus stops. Put more police on the street (hire civilians to do their paperwork). Fix the damn steps and get rid of chavs after dark

Chavs? I'd try and bring in more stores that would be money makers for the city.

I would try to expand some of the roads and make more parking spaces wherever possible. And definitely install walk lights for citizens and such. Every day I go into town, it's really confusing what all is happening and sometimes it's just annoying having to deal with everything that is happening everywhere - mobs of people, etc. I live in a small town, but it's growing.

Get some people to clean up the park, we have a park with enbankments, small hills and it is litter haven, so I would get the community involved in a clean town project! I would give funding to the youth center to inprove there facillities taking teenagers off the streets.
