Whatif said:
Yes and why wouldn't it be ok?

There is many reason why it wouldnt be ok. I'm sure you think of a few as well.

However I'm not sure on my answer. I will admit that ive done it a few (hundred) times.

Nope. Too big of a risk, but if it is an old movie & it is not in stores or at the movie store, then I'll download it, because no one would care. However, if it is a new movie and it is in theaters or a new release, I'll avoid downloading it because it is risky & I'd feel bad for stealing the hard work they've put into it without paying.

I can proudly say I've never done it. WIth movies, at least. I have done it with music.

It is wrong. There is, after all, the illegal part in the phrase. But honestly, I'm sure that one day I will.

I do it.

Because I'm poor and lazy.

Yeah, sure. It's okay, until I'm caught. Sure, report me to my ISP, if you want.

At least in the US, copying music isn't a good idea because the music industry is really fond of picking a few hundred peopel and hitting them with huge fines to send a message every now and then. Yes I heard stories about that actually happening before. I don't know about movies though but I wouldn't want to be the one who gets hit with huge fines that they can't pay and therefore go to jail for it.

I honestly wouldn't want to do anything illegal so I don't like downloading music, movies, etc. illegally.

Besides, I can most everything off of Netflix for fifteen dollars a month for as many movies/tv shows as I want or just rent it from Redbox for a dollar a day so there is no real point in doing it anyways. XD

At my work (a library) we can rent new releases for 1 dollar for a whole week. So that's a pretty good deal.

I know it's morally wrong, but I can still admit to doing it. My personal feeling is in Canada, about 95% of people I know have or do download movies/tv shows/music/programs.. etc. Why should I pretty much have to pay more to get what others are getting for free. When everyone stops, I will too. Until then, I won't.
