A news topic I posted earlier set me thinking.

The topic is here

http://offtopix.com/topic/15086-bolivia-bans-motorised-transport-for-a-day/

Suppose, for some reason, it was no longer possible to

run cars and public transport at all......

How would the way we do things change and what impact

would the situation have on the world in general ?

How would you cope with your personal daily life

and what changes would you have to make ?

But how many of the different foods each country imports are

also or could be grown by that country itself ?

And in any case, the food that once would have

been 'exported' would then feed the people of

each country.

For any western country? Probably not nearly enough.

Not to mention the collapse of every economy, the lack of raw materials and workers... Rioting probably. Electricity will no longer be available, same for gas and oil...

Besides the obvious problems for society EE mentioned, personally I couldn't get to my university anymore and I could hardly see any of my friends. My life would be a lot less interesting.
