Do you find yourself trying to impress people to change their opinions, gain their attention or friendship?
Are there people in your life you put in extra effort to impress?

No, not anymore. When I was a teenager or in my early twenties, yeah, I wanted to impress people to get them to like me or have a friendship. Now, I don't give a :censored: take me as I am or not, your choice. To answer the latter part of the conversation, no. If you have to do all of that just to get someone to notice you then that person or people don't seem worth the effort. Life is too short to run through such obstacles, at least that's how I personally feel.

So exactly that, and, to "be cool"....fit in with those I liked. Even a reason for drinking; to be more relaxed with 'the bunch'.
Very different now; not worried about "cool". :D

Not at all, I don’t give a fuck what other people think and couldn’t care less if they’re impressed with me (or not). I just want to be nice, positive, respectful towards others and get the same in return.

Nope, there's nothing impressive about me as a person, so I have no reason to try and impress people. I know people hate when I say that, but it is true. I get told I'm kind, but then I get people that ditch me for being an ass, so...I don't think that's a particularly impressive trait to have, either.

Nope. They either like me.....or they don't.

I used to, I put way too much effort into impressing others because I was a people pleaser through and through.

I gained absolutely nothing besides getting myself burnt... I can't say that any of the people I tried to impress by going out of my way are even in my life anymore, the majority live on my block list... so it really comes down to respect, at least for me. If you live to impress people who don't acknowledge your efforts then they will more than likely use that to their advantage, not prove a place in your life, not even respect you. I don't think it's a bad thing to want to impress others, but if they are going to be something to value in your life then just being yourself will be impressive enough. Especially with making friends, you're not going to want to spend your whole life being extra to gain their attention, eventually the efforts become tiresome and you notice that as soon as you stop, your existence is no longer of relevance.
