I was in love with my daughters mom (4 year relationship) and my last gf (1 and half year relationship)... It was really great while it lasted. Other people I dated, I said I love you to them but I didnt really mean it.
Like they say... Its better to have love and lost then never to have loved at all. Actually I still do love my daughter's mom but more like a friend or a family member rather than being IN love with her.

That's not being courteous in my book. I would never say those words to a person if I didn't mean them. If someone told me I love you and I didn't feel the same I would tell that person and not lead them on to only hurt them in the end. That's false hope and fake words and it has nothing to do with being courteous. If they say it and you don't feel the same for crap sake have the guts to tell the person.
