I have a case manager in case you didn't know, who helped me out in different areas, but she has helped me in what she says everything she can help me with, so she says that if I stay stable for the next 3 months she will close my case. But should I ever need her again, they could always reach her and case management could be re-opened.

I feel fine about this as long as things stay stable.

She wants me to become more independent and rely more on the program counselors as oppose to using her for everything.

This she says will help me to transition out of case management services.

It's going to be a hard goodbye having known her for over 1.5 years.

What do you think?

Is this kind of like Voc Rehab or something? I know in my case I've had a man when I was younger whom I really liked (I was still in school when I had him). Sadly, he's retire, and I still miss him alot, because he used to always be fun to chat with. Whenever we met up to discuss goals for outside-of-school, like what I wanted to do when I grew up, or whatever, he always made the conversation more interesting, and he always showed interest in what I wanted to do. My new case manager, well, she's not exactly new as I've worked with her since high school, seems to make meetings more like doctor's appointments more than anything. Basically we just talk about my job, how it's going, and any concerns as far as hours and stuff. Plus I also have another lady who's helping me work on Independant living skills, who is also helping me prepare to take the written portion of a driver's permit exam.

I think this is great as long as you remain stable and feel confident that you're ready for this. Sounds like she's done as much as she can and now it's up to you. I'm sure you also want to become more independent and this will help you do that. It's going to be hard to say goodbye but this is a whole new beginning for you. I wish you the very best, Andy!
