well I for one was hugely influenced by music. In my early teens when my family was falling apart I turned to music to escape. Discovering new bands, sounds and lyrics of songs meant a lot to me.
It became a common factor in friendships and developed a hug love in music for me. I spent money on concerts and explored many different types and styles of music.
The love of music has been part of my life, and having music as such an important part of my has been passed on to my kids. One daughter now has her grade 8 violin and earning money teaching violin to young students, and one daughter is a lead singer in a band, plays guitar and has been accepted to college to get a masters in music production and engineering, the third daughter is working on her grade 3 piano.
So yes, I would say that not only did it influence who I am, it has influenced who my kids are as well.

The album that shaped my music taste was Panic! At The Disco "A Fever You Can't Sweat Out". It was the first album I fell in love with, it blends rock and electronics. I am now a fan of rock, metal and electronic music.
