What happens when you run out of ideas for new topics, where do you go to get inspiration?

Nothing happens obviously

Can't spell new?

Yes I can see

I have to look around and think hard

  • TV...
  • Google... (you can search up things like interesting discussion topics or topic of the day or whatever)
  • Random things that pop into my head...

I get new ideas of threads from the news, TV programmes, other websites and sometimes things in my mind.

I get some of mine from reading the news, listening to the radio, google and things that happen to me in every day life. What I truly hate is when I post a personal life event only to find the words slightly changed and posted on another forum by another member. As a matter of fact, that really pisses me off! Has that ever happened to you too?

I get ideas from the news, band websites, social networks, gigs, etc. There's loads of stuff going on all of the time, it's just a question of finding the right thing that will interest you members and strike a conversation.

Well depending on your niche, you can look at sites that relate to your topic to help get some ideas.

Doing a google search can help you find current information related to your niche. You can use this information to help get content ideas.

One thing I like to do is at the end of my posts, try to pose questions to the members before closing, so that I can try to gather input from others to help create content.

Hope this helps,

Andy

I just don't think about what I need to do I just let it happen I guess if that makes any sense.

I watch tv or movies.

Surf around other sites.

Well that is what I did when I still owned a forum, now I don't care to make topics

I just make a topic about whatever I'm going through right now, something that I talked about earlier today, etc. Usually that will spark more inspiration for more topics, it's like a chain reaction.

I also sometimes look at the Chat Thread and see what topic is or was popular there and make a full topic just for that, since the Chat thread tends to change topics regularly without giving everyone the time to respond to the last topic.
