Is it wrong to have a crush on someone on the internet while you have a significant other?

I think so yes, same thing with having a crush with someone in real life while being in a relationship...

I don't think so, what is wrong with being attracted and liking someone that you meet on line?
I think it is natural

Crushes happen on the net. They are normal. It is what you do with them that is the key.

What she said!

Thinking about this more I would say that because the internet introduces us to people in ways we have never had before with geography not being an issue, I think that not only are internet crushes possible but may even be inevitable

while being in a relationship, why would you dedicate time to another person you like and have feelings for? :|

I never really crushed on anyone from the internet. Faces behind computer screens aren't enough for me. All the crushes I've had were on people I've seen/known in real life. :dontknow:

What.. Because you are in a relationship the rest of the world does not exist?

Even the word 'crush' is stupid .. That what kids have .. Meeting someone, and liking them is natural and normal in a relationship or not.
It happens at work, on line and anywhere in life where two people connect

I did once have a very strong crush on a lady I met via Twitter. She was/is beautiful inside and out. I was going through a difficult time in my relationship (we have since split).

I never did anything about the crush and we are still in contact now. She's getting married soon and is very happy. I'm very pleased for her.

I guess so. I can't really say because I don't know how it feels to fall for someone over the internet..

because if you're in a relationship and constantly talk to your "crush" online or offline, it will most likely turn into something that will destroy or hurt your current relationship...

Only if you allow it to, and if you do, then the relationship was not that strong to begin with.

my point exactly, why have feelings for someone else while in a relationship with someone else?
obviously, doing so you would be neglecting your current relationship and spending too much time and your own feelings towards someone else besides the person you should be directing it towards...

So if you are in a relationship you need to somehow block out the rest of the world?
You (in general) are in a relationship, not dead

i'm not saying that, but if you're putting forth effort into a crush, such as your time and feelings, then you're robbing your relationship partner of your full love and affection/feelings...

and how would your partner feel if you're online crushing on other people?

being friends and crushing on people are two different things... ;)

Sorry to hear about your bad relationship. I can relate, been in a couple myself.

I dated a lot of girls on Myspace, but that was way before I met that special someone. On Myspace, I met girls that lived in or near my town. I don't like long distance relationships. Big fat waste of time. Anyways, all those girls ever wanted to do was screw, which was fine. Online relationships never lasted long that I got in.

I think that you are taking 'crushing' a bit too seriously.  How can anyone go around pretending that they are not attracted to other people just because they are in a relationship.  It is human instinct
