I went and did the paperwork this morning. Then they sent me out to get my fingerprints done (basically a background check).. The place they sent me to is 4 cities over.

I went down there to do it and I was on my way back home when they called me and said there was an issue with the computer, I have to come back.. So I got off the free way and turned around and went back. After they did it a 2nd time I asked Are you 100% sure Im good?! I dont want to have to come all the way back down here again.

He said Yeah you should be good. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Well they just sent me an email yesterday saying

Hi,

We are not able to offer you a position in our District at this time.

....and that was it! No explanation at all. I replied asking for one and I havent gotten a reply yet.

Thats kind of messed up because they told me I got the job, made me fill out a fat stack of paperwork, and made me drive out of town to do a stupid background check... then they tell me they changed their minds.. I understand that money is tight right now and districts are closing schools and laying off people in mass quantities so maybe that was the reason. I dont know. They should have told me why instead of leaving me in the dark.

Oh well I already have the same job at a different school district. I was hoping to do this one as well because my other 2nd job doesnt give me work everyday. I was hoping that on the days that one didnt give me work, the other one would. Perhaps I was biting off more than I can chew anyways. Reflecting on it, signing myself up for even more 16 hour days than Ive currently been doing sounds a little crazy so perhaps this was a blessing in disguise.

That's life alright. But... 16 hour days? 24-16 = 8 hours. I guarantee you that it was a blessing in disguise, because no one could work that for too long. Money sounds great, but that's a bit extreme.

Its not that extreme. Ive gotten used to it... But I only do it a couple times a week or less. Doing it everyday would kill me. lol

Exactly. I probably couldn't stay awake that long, let alone work and try to stay awake. Doing it everyday would kill you, so it's probably best you didn't get the second job if it'd work you everyday for 16 hours.

3rd? What the.. One is enough, two is pushing it, and three is insane. I've met some dedicated people, but I couldn't imagine having three jobs. Be glad you didn't get it.

Thanks.. That makes 1 full time job and 2 sub jobs.. I wonder if both school districts try to give me work on the same day.. I suppose I'll have to choose the one that pays more per hour.. (the one Ive already been working for)

Sub jobs are different as you arent required to be there and work is optional. They call me and say Can you be at <insert site here> at <insert time here> on <insert date here>? Then I tell them if I can or cant. If I can, great! The absence is filled.. If I cant, oh well, call the next sub on the list.

I was trying to aquire another sub job so I could get more work in the mornings (before I go into my real job) more often but I suppose subbing for one district is good enough.
