How do you introduce yourself on a forum? (in your introduction topic)

Make a short greeting? Tell a little about yourself? Shamelessly plug your forum and beg people to join it? (lol)

etc, etc etc..

Sometimes I just make a short greeting. But when I want to. I will tell my whole life story!

I usually just give out a hey and a what's going on?

Short and simple.

I do short greetings as well. Just a topic to let people know that Im new and Im there.

That's usually what I do as well. And then of course I basically add that I'm looking forward to getting to know everyone.

I don't say all that much in welcome threads outside of a hello, nice place and thought I stick around or something like that.

I usually do a quick hi. If it's a exchange I will talk about myself or say something I like about the forum.

I say hi and then tell them a bit about me. Like, Hi, my name is Kathryn but most people call me this this and this, I like Pink Floyd and PC games. Hope to get to know you all. Looks like a nice forum. Blah blah.

I normally say this, 'Hey I am TayneC8 and I am new here. Nice forum you have here!

Damn, you mean I shouldn't do that?

Well, you probably could, but I don't think it's recommended though.

Unless asked to, no. I don't see the point. Members will get to know me through my posts and comments throughout the forum.

I actually don't do it any more. The first forum I joined was one of the largest on the internet and had no introduction board, so you had to make a name for yourself the hard way. Of which I enjoyed. So now I prefer to take that route.

Depends what the forum is about, and who the general audience is. If it's a mature, professional forum, I get in the mature, professional mode.

If it's a general community- I'll be general.

It depends.
