An iPad somehow remained intact and fully functioning - despite being lodged in a car's bumper in a freak accident.
Alexa Crisa, 23, was stunned to learn she'd been driving around Roswell and Marietta, near Atlanta, Georgia, with the gadget sticking out the front of her Nissan.
"I'm not even sure how I missed it, other than I don't check my bumper for random dislodged electronics," she said.
Miss Crisa had been driving at 40mph when the iPad, accidentally left on top of another car, flew off and into her vehicle.
She saw a flying object, hit the brakes but, feeling she hadn't run over anything, carried on with her day before going home.
Her father Nick Crisa spotted the gadget when he returned, and had to use a hammer to remove it from the bumper.
The screen was smashed but - incredibly - the tablet computer still worked and they were able to trace the owner so it could be returned.
The owner was able to get a new tablet through his Apple warranty plan, and offered to pay for a new bumper.
