01_Poptarts_Ravioli.webp

One of the biggest internet food questions of the last few years has wondered whether a Pop-Tart can be considered ravioli. While this seems like a joke, it actually brings up a valid question. Is any sort of food item in which an outer shell that fully envelops a filling a ravioli? There are so many encased foods from around the world, from empanadas to dumplings. But what sets each apart is the dough and the cooking method. Ravioli are a type of pasta, often filled with meat or cheese and cooked in boiling water. A Pop-Tart, on the other hand, is a hand pie, a pastry made with biscuit-style dough with either a sweet or savory filling that is baked, fried or deep-fried. So we can conclusively say that the answer to this question is a firm no.

In your opinion, Is a Pop-Tart a ravioli?

i'd classify pop tarts a "hand pies".

now ravioli (stuffed pasta pocket)... is cousin to pot stickers and perogies. my very first teaching job was as a long term sub at a little Ukrainian/Catholic school in Chester, PA. every Friday, the neighborhood ladies would be in the little school kitchen way before anybody else getting ready to make perogies... plain potato, potato/kraut, plain kraut, potato/onion, potato/cheese, etc. neighborhood people were lined up to put in their orders to be picked up at the end of the school day. lunch that day was home-made perogies with a liberal amount of butter... sooooo good.

MMmm, you're making me hungry!

Pop tarts are barely "food".

I am way too sober to answer this, but this definitely seems like a pothead question.. lol

And yes, the ingredients might read like the periodic table of elements, but that might be what makes it so good.. I mean people do smoke, and drink, and use artificial drugs made with worse ingredients than the natural stuff..

I love the Smores pop tarts and a few others..

And there is no meat in Beefaroni, it is soy now.. but that is irrelevant to me since we make our own using ground turkey..

Empenadas. But I consider that part of the ravioli phylum, so "yes".

I've done that before.
So have I, but not this far, and it is still pretty tasty.. kinda like toasted marshmallow.. but when you see black it wont be good.. and it will kill your taste buds with bitterness.. which is why i have a tendency to NOT trust the toaster.. I have to babysit it and as soon as i start to smell it, then I pop it out..

That said though, I have since gotten fancy as I've gotten older and so, these days it is Toaster strudel.. and it is so good.. lol
