Is climate change the greatest threat to human existence?

Is climate change the greatest threat to human existence?
Its COVID!!!!!
Just kidding.

I actually don't follow climate change news/updates. I hear its bad stuff but I am not really paying attention.

If, as looks very probable, Putin loses in the Ukraine, he'll blame the West for supplying weapons.

He's getting old and in some reports may have cancer.............there's a good chance he may want to go out with a (nuclear) bang.

I don't think we'll have to much worry about climate issues after that.

I think it is.

If we don’t fix our trash issues in the oceans or start to reduce carbon outputs and ecological destruction to I fear that Mother Nature will rid her self of us.

The plastic in the ocean really is a problem. I thought recycling was something that was supposed to help but it doesn't when countries like China turn around and dump it in the ocean.

Humans are the greatest threat to the human existence. This planet is grossly overpopulated.

That would be a good start, coupled with a transition from the fossil fuels to renewable energy solutions. There's a huge yellow orb up in the sky, emanating amounts of (potential) energy in abundance, but humans just say nope, gimme mah gas guzzling polluter.

If that doesn't change, we're headed for the Soylent Green future followed by the Mad Max future.

I say no. Other planets are going through climate changes too and our planet has been changing for hundreds if not thousands of years now.

There are no humans on other planets.

there could be...

Of course you don't. No one made you sign an NDA when she got accepted into the program, or anything like that... :whistles:

Is climate change the greatest threat to human existence?

No. We survived the Ice Age.

During the past 200,000 years, homo sapiens have survived two ice ages. While this fact shows humans have withstood extreme temperature changes in the past, humans have never seen anything like what is occurring now.

That's what I'm afraid of. Live to fight another day. And another. And another. And another... *sigh*
