Is it a man's responsibility to ask a woman out?

If you're a woman, have you asked a man out on a first date?

Never.
Would have felt out of place.

My only real relationship started with a sort of mutual asking out, it was a decent relationship until she needed something I couldn't give her.

Is it the man's responsibility? In this day and age I don't think so, it's up to you to take the initiative, if you think there's something there, go for it! Doesn't matter who is what, just take the initiative and ask.

Dating is a choice. It doesn't matter who asks who. This means that responsibility is irrelevant in the process.

A girl has never asked me out. Always me doing the asking.

I've asked 6 women out in my lifetime and 0 have asked me out. It's like it's our responsibility, but it really isn't. Women need to pull their weight too if they truly like someone, they may be passing up a good opportunity. Societal norms will get the best of us, but societal norms are generally a bunch of stereotypical BS.

My friends mocked at me when I told them it was me who invited my bf for a date. There is nothing wrong, it is not a crime to fall in love.

Every man's except mine. I'm special, I will be the one asked out.

I've had women ask me out on Tinder after we matched. But it was a few hours into us talking and it started with them saying "Do you want to take me out to dinner?" or "Maybe take me out?" and these were women I wasn't going to date yet because I was still waiting on other options at the time. I don't like dating multiple women at once as that can be overwhelming.
