Whether sexual orientation is a trait we are born with (nature) or is caused by the environment we are raised in (nurture) has been debated by scientists, religious leaders, elected officials, and the general public.

Proponents argue that sexual orientation, much like handedness or tongue curling, is determined by natural, immutable biological factors such as genes or hormones.

Opponents argue that homosexuality is a reversible and unfortunate lifestyle choice resulting from poor child-parent relationships, sexual abuse, brainwashing by pro-gay influences, or other developmental causes.

What do you think?

I believe it is Neither, but, more likely, BOTH.

You may inherit the tendency or perhaps even the preference for one or the other, but your environment influences your choice of lifestyle as an adult.

Hold on, that's not the same as at birth. I'm siding with these people.

I have noticed a lot of gay males share one thing in common; they didn't have their father's around as a child. Does that mean all male children who grow up without a strong male figure in their life will ultimately turn out to be gay? No, of course not.

Based on the homosexuals, and for that matter, bisexuals as well, that I have known over the years, I can point to one 'trend' that holds true and remains true in spite of the various statistics and attempts to explain it away.

They all made their decision as to whom they would rather spend the weekend with As An Adult, and they had all come to this decision after at least having attempted to function exclusively 'on the other side' as it were.
