is sledding too dangerous?

should towns/cities ban sledding if they get too many injuries from sledding?

it depends on how stupid people are, but I can't see it being any more dangerous than many other winter sports and activities.
I think it is a mistake when places start banning and restricting things for the purposes of protected the most stupid in society.

Places that get lots of snow and have steep hills, maybe. Parental supervision is key, even for adults

It should be a law and mandatory that all people wear helmets while sledding. Most of the injuries that occur are head injuries. We had one last winter where the girl hit her head and is now a parapalegic. A helmet would have produced a different outcome for her.

like banning sledding will make everyone stop from doing it...

not sure why some towns/cities want to ban this activity due to people being injured, might as well ban everything...

No there should be no ban. There should be no rule to where helmets while sledding or biking or whatever they choose to do as a fun activity. Now if they do not have insurance or money to pay for the treatment when say it was made very clear no one would treat you if you still want to the activity I would support 100%.

Sledding is just as dangerous as driving a car or anything that has a motor in it. I get that you don't need to have sledding license or a drivers license to be able to sled but for the most part we all know that a motorized vehicle can be very dangerous so we are very careful when we drive them.
