Do you think social media is hindering our ability to form meaningful connections with others? Why or why not?

Yes, because those who have grown up with social media have grown up with the mindset that it's ok to be a toxic individual and extol views so long as people give you a like. They live their lives around pointless metrics and forget what life is actually about.

Social media has raised a generation of people that don't know how to effectively communicate and build toxic relationships. It has rather raised a generation that believes everything is instant like Instant Messaging. They start relationships behind computer screens without real connections.

Social media is more of a place where transactional relationships are built. It was never meant to replace personal relationships. Hoping that social media would help people build good relationships is a mirage.
