Is space exploration a waste of money?

Do you think space exploration is a waste of money that would be better suited towards other things that we need?

Why or why not?

I don't think it is a waste. We should at least be monitoring space because if a giant asteroid or comet or something is headed for us and going to wipe us out, we need to be able to have plenty of time to blow it up or change its course.

I genuinly believe that somewhere out there there is life on other planets, and I hope that in my lifetime it is discovered.

Space exploration is just as important as exploring the planet we live on. It is a part of the environment we exist in and should be studied/explored.
