On June 8th, 1965, during the Six-Day War, Israel attacked and nearly sank the USS Liberty belonging to its closest ally, the USA. Thirty-four American servicemen were killed and over 170 wounded in the two-hour assault by Israeli warplanes and torpedo boats.

Israel claimed that the whole affair had been a tragic accident based on mistaken identification of the ship. The American government accepted the explanation. For more than 30 years many people have disbelieved the official explanation but have been unable to rebut it convincingly.

Now, "Dead in the Water" uses startling new evidence to reveal the truth behind the seemingly inexplicable attack. The film combines dramatic reconstruction of the events, with new access to former officers in the US and Israeli armed forces and intelligence services who have decided to give their own version of events. Interviews include President Lyndon Johnson's Secretary of Defense, Robert McNamara, former head of the Israeli navy, Admiral Shlomo Errell, and members of the USS Liberty crew.

Another way language is used is to make people believe that an action is somehow different when is an employee from government doing the deed.

Arrest = Kidnap
Bail = Ransom
Tax = Extortion
Fines = Extortion
Confiscation = Steal
Usage of Force = Assault
Usage of deadly force = Murder
Collateral Damage = Murder

You might one day be assaulted by a government official for refusing to pay your yearly extortion. If you resist the assault, they might murder you. If you do not resist the assault they will kidnap you, place you in a cage and then ask for ransom for your temporary release until another government official decides if they should kidnap you again for a longer time.

The greatest trick government made was to have people change the language when is them doing the deeds. The 2nd trick government uses is to convince you that somehow you got a choice when you elect from some pre-selected candidates.

A group of Jewish Holocaust survivors recently took out an ad in the New York Times condemning Israel's most recent bombings and invasion of Gaza. Are they anti-semitic too? Israelis are not the only people who have a right to defend themselves. The Palestinians have the same right. The extreme right-wing government of Israel keeps Palestinians in an apartheid state that's essentially an open air prison. Israel exercises its so-called right to bomb and kill these men, women and children on a regular basis. It cuts off electricity and water, the basics of human life. Israel also claims a so-called right (a crime under international law) to assassinate Palestinian leaders (see Arafat, and the attempt on Mishal where they were caught red-handed). The current Israeli government is not serious about a fair and just peace agreement.

You have to reach back to 1972 for an incident where a band of criminals attacked athletes? What happened to those criminals? They were all hunted down and killed. But you want to continue to collective blame and punishment of a whole people 43 years later.
