A barrister has provoked fury by saying men who should not be convicted of rape if a woman was drunk or on drugs.

David Osborne’s made the claim on his website in a blog he has called ‘SHE WAS GAGGING FOR IT’.

His comments were prompted by Alison Saunders, the Director of Public Prosecutions, announcing new measures would be put in place to establish whether a woman was fit to give consent.

Married dad-of-four Mr Osborne, 71, wrote: ‘In my book, consent is consent, blind drunk or otherwise, and regret after the event cannot make it rape….I have a very simple solution which I hope you will agree is fair.

‘If the complainant (I do not refer to her as the victim) was under the influence of alcohol or drugs, or both, when she was “raped”, this provides the accused with a complete defence.

‘End of story and a victory for fairness, moderation and common sense!’

my thoughts?

that the guy is a maron for thinking that and as @drleftover had said, the law says otherwise as well as common sense...

with his stupid thought process, people that kill or rob drunk people shouldn't go to jail/prison either... what a bunch of horse wash...

Let us line up anyone who thinks this way and shoot them for being so incredibly ignorant and unempathetic. The world needs to rid itself of people who cannot be convinced they are wrong.

And first in line would be who? the Man Made Global Warmists?

Thoughts?

We need to get this guy drunk then find another not so nice guy that finds him attractive and see what he thinks about that thinking when he wakes up in the morning.

Bet if it was one of his kids, he'd be singing a different song.

However, if we're honest about it.

There are a number of rape cases filed where the woman changed her mind after the event and, through guilt, fear of pregnancy, fear of disapproval by family, whatever, said she was forced.

However, that has nothing to do with intoxication.
