Ever hear the saying: It's not what you know, it's who you know? Well, that saying has just become a reality for me.
There was a full time day shift opening at the hospital. I've been waiting five years for such an opening so I applied immediately. I just got the phone call that they regretted to tell me that I did NOT get the position. I asked who did. Ready for this one??? A part-timer with 8 months experience. I questioned why I didn't get it since I have way more experience and seniority. They then told me they did not have to explain why I got passed up. It's a private hospital and unfortunately, we have no union.
I called one of my friends to let them know what happened. As it turns out, the one who got the position is dating the Administrators son.
I'm so ripping mad right now that I would quit if I could.
