Ever break up with someone and they keep calling, texting and sending you emails? If so, how did you finally get them to stop and leave you alone?

Had this about a week ago. I got 400+ texts in 3 days. I told her to stop being so pathetic and accept it's over.

No.... never..

somehow I feel unloved...

I WANT TO BE STALKED

Not really, she has resorted to asking my friends about me, whether I found a new girlfriend, etc...

But hey, at least she stopped texting me for a while.

*sigh*

I had this when I was at college once. I ended it due to personal reasons and he wouldn't accept it was over. He kept texting and emailing me. I told him I'd get the police involved and he stopped for a while and then started up again. In the end, I had to get a friend of mine to email and tell him to leave me alone or he'd have my friend to answer too. ( It was, funnily enough my now partner!

Mike it was a female that I believe you also know from a certain forum that you and I are both members of. I posted this in another thread:

I would say that the worst thing that EVER happened to me was to become a victim of a cyber stalker. Didn't know the true meaning of that until it happened to me. The cyber stalker pretends to be your friend and in the beginning is what seems like a very nice person. Then you start to notice changes taking place. They start to want your full attention at all times. They want you to hate the people they hate. They then start sending emails asking where you are and what you're doing. If you ignore even one of the emails sent, they send others asking you didn't you get any of my emails today? It then esculates into emails that contain copied and pasted private emails from other members that have said nasty and vile things about you. Then they start to tell you lies and tell you who to reply to and who not to. They follow you from forum to forum. You get to the point that you are truly afraid to make them mad. You play along and keep them as friends because, IMO, it's better to know where your cyber stalker is at all times. Then there comes the breaking point where you can no longer take it. When you confront them, they go berserk and that's when the real trouble begins. They contact all of your friends and start sending them false emails that you've said about them. The only way to end it is to know your true friends would never believe a word they have to say. I personally have had to block and change my email address. My life has been pure hell for years and I'm taking back MY life.

In ending, I would have to say that I hope you are very careful who you give your email address to. Also do NOT give out any personal information to someone you really don't know.

*Just for the record, I had to finally hire an attorney to get rid of her. I notice she's still going strong and I feel sorry for the poor victims who have fallen prey to her.

Bump.

Anyone else have this happen to them?

If you ignore someone long enough, they'll eventually give up.

I take it that you've never had to deal with an online stalker. They do not give up no matter how much you ignore them.

Has that happened to you? If so, how long did it take before they got the 'message' it's over?

Yeah, a few years back, she was pretty loco and would take offense to anything and everything. So much anger and hostility over the smallest things, then all of the sudden she'd be in a happy mood acting like nothing happened. I finally got tired of dealing with this light switch of a person, so I made it clear we were done and over with, no friendship or contact either. The following texts and voice mails were very nasty / mean spirited (or nice depending on her mood) and became less and less frequent over a few weeks. Then I'd get one randomly like every month and eventually nothing. Took about 4 or 5 months for her to leave me alone completely.
