James Bond, anyone?

Not a big James Bond fan. I prefer John Wick.

Well, my history with 007 goes back a ways. I saw The Spy Who Loved Me in theaters when it came out in 1977 (I was 12) and was fan thereafter (in fairness, I might have seen Goldfinger on TV before that but the chronology is getting a bit fuzzy since we are talking 45 or so years ago). Read Fleming's novel in high school. Read John Gardner's novels as the they came out. Saw the Moore and Dalton movies in theaters as they came out and got caught up on previous ones through TV and home video. Oddly, while I started with Moore, Sean Connery and Timothy Dalton became my favourite Bonds (and I suspect Craig will be up there, too, if I ever get around to watching his series).

And then it kind of ... stopped. Liked Goldeneye, liked Brosnan as Bond, but my Bond-watching days kind of fizzled out at that point. Dating a non-Bond fan, marriage, family, career, all kind of conspired to stifle my interest in movies in general. Haven't read any of the recent novels, either. I have good intentions about getting back into 007's world but never seem to quite get there.

If I ever get back into movie watching in a big way, John Wick is on my radar. However, be warned that I have an abiding dislike of Keanu Reeves so this may not go well. At the very least, I might watch the original and stop there if he grates on my nerves.

Yes, if Daniel Craig is not portraying him.
