Jeff Jarrett ruins Vampiro’s retirement tour at AAA Triplemania XXXII: Tijuana

Vampiro is the primary focus of AAA’s current legends tour visiting arenas across Mexico for his last match in each city. For the most part, Vampiro has been on the winning side of competition in tag team and trios action. Leave it to Jeff Jarrett to ruin the vibe. The Last Outlaw made sure Vampiro wouldn’t have a happy ending at Triplemania XXXII: Tijuana (June 15, 2024).
Sides were drawn in the main event with AAA against a team of foreigners. Vampiro was joined by Alberto Del Rio, Murder Clown, and Dave The Clown. Jarrett was ringleader for the squad of Sam Adonis, QT Marshall, Parker Boudreaux, and Satnam Singh. Double J insulted the crowd by throwing tortillas. Even though Jarrett wasn’t an official competitor in the match, that didn’t stop him from persistent interference inside and outside of the ring.
Things got spicy when Jarrett threatened to throw tortillas at AAA president Marisela Peña. Faby Apache ran out to fight with Jarrett, then crooked referee El Hijo de Tirantes butt in to block her. With Jarrett stuck scared on the ramp as Faby loomed large, the AAA team took control. Vampiro hit a Canadian Destroyer on Marshall, and Alberto cracked a backstabber to Boudreaux. Team AAA focused 4-on-1 to rough up Satnam, but the giant wiped them all out on a running crossbody.
When Jarrett and Faby made their way back to the ring, Satnam goozled her to tease a chokeslam. Latin Lover ran in for the save. The playboy and the clowns targeted the giant’s knees. Vampiro delivered a low blow kick to the groin. Alberto followed with a jawbreaker and a dropkick to finally drop the giant to the mat. Alberto and Vampiro stacked on top for a pin, but Satnam shed them off to continue the match.
Team AAA still had momentum with dives from the clowns wiping out Adonis and Boudreaux. Vampiro lifted Marshall for a slam to finish. That’s when Jarrett ruined the moment. He kicked Vampiro in the jewels, then Satnam bopped a big boot. The giant put his massive foot on Vampiro’s chest for the winning pin.
We’ll have to wait and see if AAA arranges an opportunity for Vampiro’s payback at Triplemania XXXII: Mexico City on August 17.
Overall, the match was amusing as a spectacle, assuming you know the characters. If you wanted wrestling, then this isn’t the match for you. It was a hodgepodge of brawling with a few moves sprinkled in. The action certainly did not live up to what should be expected for the main event of a major show.
