misconception:
a view or opinion that is incorrect because it is based on incorrect information, faulty thinking or understanding.

What is a common misconception about your job?

That it's all fun and games, or that it's always easy. (I'm an in home nanny.)

That Paramedics have no feelings. What people truly don't understand is that if we (Paramedics) let everything we see get to us, we would never be able to do our job.

That all Correctional Officers are uneducated boobs who couldn't get another job.

That generalization is only partially true.

In my training academy class in 1987, there were three of us who had college degrees, another was taking night classes to be an RN, and several veterans.
