i don't understand your choice of title for this topic. the denial of the red genocide in america and the hypocrisy of both thanksgiving and columbus day has been an important topic of conversation in the american activist artist circles i travel in since at least the 500th anniversary of columbus' landing in 1992.

The gentleman is a professor.

The title was to create interest and prompt discussion of his topic.

For my part, and as a significant percentage of my blood comes from the original inhabitants of the continent, to some degree, I agree with him.

However, I do take some issue with a few of his points and his choice of language to make them.

my ancestors are jews who fled genocide in europe and came here to escape it , so naturally my sympathies will flow with the victims.

i'm pretty sure robert jensen was lecturing occupy austin some and he struck me as a garden variety chomsky-ite. i don't really have any problem with his points or language and am curious to know what points he made you feel are invalid.

i didn't see anything specifically offensive to jews in the article.

my family is descended from the clan kohan in that tribe. it's difficult not to be touched by oppression against any people with that blood running through one's veins and it's especially difficult to sit idly by while my own cousins oppress their arab neighbors.

here's an interesting piece about the truth behind thanksgiving:
