Have you ever had the pleasure of experiencing Jury Duty? Have you always been dismissed or have you ever been chosen to be on an actual jury? If so, how did that go?

I have been called for Jury Duty several times. I served on only one jury which the person was charged with robbery. The evidence was so overwhelming against the accused that it took only 20 minutes deliberating. We came back with a guilty verdict and the accused went to jail.

I've done it once about 10 years ago, interesting experience.

Ive been called in, but dismissed every time. I always wear baggy gang looking clothes or raggity old beat up clothes to make me look like Im not a reputable citizen.

I've never been summoned for jury duty but if I was, I'd have to reject it. Main reason being is because I am a nervous person and won't see myself as being part of the jury. I know that one of my real-life friends has went on jury duty before.

I haven't been called, but here you can put it off for 2 years. Hope I'll never get called though. Though maybe a degree in Forensics may hekp me XD

So who decides if the accused is guilty or innocent?

Is it mandatory in the US or UK? If it's the UK you're meaning then that's not right. If my name is randomly chosen on the database then I have to reject the jury duty because of my condition (Aspergers) and I would have to see my doctor regarding this. Not even my mum would ever want to go either, as she's a very nervous person.

US.. Nobody wants to go. It is a good way to get a paid day off work though. I'd rather sit in the court house for a couple hours & get dismissed than do 8 hours at work.

A tribunal... unless there's more than three.

Means you can't sway the people by acting

Due to my health I would be able to get out of it here

I wouldn't like to be in a jury anyway, because most of the time the cases in court are all about murder and I don't want to see photos of anyone's bludgeoned or dismembered body. If I was there, I'd probably be like Rashid from the ITV drama The Jury, where throughout the court case he remained silent.
