Keep a shark as a pet?

Just no. Sharks are meant to be in the wild and are not domesticated. Sharks are also very messy and need special treatment.

Nope. No appeal....interesting, necessary critters I reckon; but in the wild, definitely not as pets. Same goes for alligators and crocs.

NO

Ah, it seems water and I aren't the best of friends either.
I've had some fish as pets before, but I found them rather dull.
Maintaining their tank was quite the chore, and for pets that don't offer much excitement, it didn't quite appeal to me. That's why I decided they weren't for me.

Nope - nowhere near qualified enough to do that!

And even if I was, they need wide open spaces of water that I just don't have the means to provide.

Yes, yes I would. Id buy a big plot of land, put an inground pool in equipped to handle small animals and get a small shark.

One exception I've found:
If you ever venture into fresh-water tropical fish again, Mouth-Breeding African Ciclids have been an obsession for me.
But still; gets to be an overwhelming chore.

A small one in a large aquarium would be cool to look at but they should be in the ocean where they belong.
