Lol me and my daughter just went to the air port to go fly our kite. Well we were next to it. There is a HUGE open field over there and that is a perfect place to fly a kite because the parks all have a bunch of trees everywhere. Some guy rolls up in a truck and tells us that we have to leave. Saying that there is some law about flying kites within 5 miles of airports. Before I could even say Ok, I didnt know that, we're leaving he says Now get out of here because I already called the police.

I was thinking: WTF?

So we left without even acknowledging him.

The man was a total asshole.

If my six year old wasnt there I would have gave him a piece of my mind.

He could have informed us in a polite manner instead.

Yeah.. We were out there for about a half hour or longer.. I seen him drive by staring at us a few times.. I think he had to go in and look it up or ask someone else if he could kick us out. lol..

That sucks. At least it wasn't a real cop. I understand where he's coming from, because it is an airport and it could be distracting to the airplanes, BUT, that's not the way you go about it. People don't understand that you can get your way by being polite. Most feel the need to threaten you for some reason. Don't know why, but it seems to me that if you're reasonable and polite, they'll be more lenient to cooperate.

Happened at the beach once with this security guy. He just shouted pool closed, you have to get out. I started laughing because all he had to say was, hey, the pool is closing down.

I doubt it would distract the plane and we weren't actually at the airport. There is a huge fences around the whole thing. We were across the street.

Sounds like you had an awesome day, I never knew that such a law existed but if it is a law then he had every right to ask you to leave but he shouldn't have been a douche about it.

Due to terrorist threats all airports have beafed up their security in and around the airport facility. What you saw as harmless was considered a threat and had to be checked out. I understand the why but he had no right to talk to you in the manner in which he did. I would have gotten a badge number or his name and reported this to the airport manager.
