Kill them with kindness?

Have you ever used the "kill them with kindness" method on people?

Is it effective? Why do you think people get angry at their rivals being overly nice to them?

i generally use the method because i'm really a nice and kind person, so it comes naturally for me...

and yes, it's effective, because you make others shut down and lose their will and at times, confuses them...

I find that it's only really effective in that it makes people looking for a fight want to leave instead. When you don't fuel the fire and you are simply nice, it's hard to respond when you're not getting what you really want.
