Reality TV star Kim Kardashian and rapper Kanye West have married in a flamboyant ceremony, thought to have cost £11m, at an Italian Renaissance palace fortress.
Ms Kardashian, who appears with her family on Keeping Up With The Kardashians, and the Jesus Walks performer were joined together in a private ceremony attended by family and friends near Florence.
A spokesman for the makers of the Kardashian programme, E!, confirmed that the bride's sisters made up the bridal party and her stepdad Bruce Jenner walked her down the aisle at Forte di Belvedere.
It has been reported that the couple have pumped £4m of their own money into the event and Florence's mayor's office said earlier that the venue alone had cost £250,000 to hire.
The rest is understood to have been covered by the TV network E!, which screens Ms Kardashian's programme.
E! News said the wedding party was flown in from Paris on Saturday morning.
The nuptials drew crowds of fans eager to witness the glitzy event, but they were kept far away from the heavily-walled 16th century fortress.
Pictures on some media however showed Ms Kardashian in a Victorian-themed lace and mesh dress, with full-length arms and a high neck.
Her hair was kept long and her head was covered with a long gauze veil.
It had been rumoured that Ms Kardashian would be wearing a £2m dress designed by Royal Wedding dress maker Sarah Burton and the pictures showed an outfit that bore similarities to that worn by Kate Middleton.
Among the notables sighted arriving in Florence ahead of the ceremony were Steve McQueen, British director of Oscar-winner 12 Years A Slave; Lala Anthony, wife of NY Knicks basketball star Carmelo Anthony; Jaden Smith, the teenage son of Will and Jada Smith; and Nebulous Francis of Girls Gone Wild fame.
Mr West, 36, proposed to Ms Kardashian, 33, in October on her birthday. He rented out San Francisco's AT&T Park to pop the question.
The couple have a daughter, called North, who was born in July 2013.
The rapper was recently quoted in the Florentine newspaper La Nazione as saying that North was conceived on a previous visit to Florence.
It is the first marriage for Mr West, and the third for Ms Kardashian. Her last marriage, to professional basketball player Kris Humphries, in 2011, lasted 72 days. That ceremony was featured in a two-part TV special.
