Do you pay the monthly fee to use Photoshop or did you buy it out right?

All I have at the moment is gimp.

I didn't know you could pay monthly.
I bought it flat out, got it on discount through my college when I was in school... also my laptop as well... though I guess it's not really paid for yet as I used the money from my student loans for everything and I've not started to pay them back yet.
