How does the last paper towel work in your home?

Odd question I guess, but where I live, if you take the last paper towel, you have to replace it with another roll. That's why there's always one paper towel left on the roll and no one wants it. Well, I just had to replace it because I used the last one. I don't mind replacing it, but I had to go outside into the garage = cold to go get it. What about you?
