I don't go to any sporting events.
It was almost 10 years ago at this point, went to watch the Dallas Stars play the Arizona Coyotes here in AZ. It's fun because as a fan of the visiting team you get a bit of flack from the home crowd, but the Coyotes are a terrible team, so it's nice to watch the fans go from excited to tail-between-their-legs embarrassed in a matter of three-ish hours. Been to a few Stars/Coyotes games since living here, always fun to watch a team you support!
I got free tickets to a local minor league baseball game a couple years ago, so that. I don't really care for sports but when I am watching it live/in person I can get more into it because I am feeding off the energy in the crowd I suppose.

A lot of them are quite fun and you can meet like-minded people who are there to have a great time. It's worth the experience, even if only once. This is coming from someone with massive social anxiety issues who has been to a few hockey and football ("soccer") games. Now that I think about it, I've also been to watch college and professional baseball and NLL...geez, I get out too much!With all those drunken fans?

I used to go to college games with my grandpa all the time. Good times good times.
I lived in Fayetteville Arkansas for a brief while (eek), so we would go to watch the Razorbacks play baseball a few times. It was fun!
