Not even a week in and many of the best known stars of cycling have already bowed out due to injury or other circumstances.
Including Cavendish, Froome, Schlek and others.
Now is when some young unknown can make a statement.

It's a shame that Froome and Contador are out. It would be great to see a fight between them. Now it's just Nibali left. As for the rest of the top 10, it's anybody's game now I guess.
Cavendish was being stupid again in the sprint on the first day, not for the first time in his carreer. If he wasn't injured, he should've been stopped from participating the rest of this edition of the Tour anyways.
