A heavily techie long time friend of mine just made the observation that Linkedin has changed.
He said that those in his field have stopped communicating and connecting and 'conversating' with each other on the service.
Which was the point of the thing, Professional Networking.
In my reply I told him that where I work, while they encourage us to connect on the site, they also monitor our postings in case we say something that might not be seen in a favorable light to the Department.
So, most people here do like I do. They are registered with the service, but other than saying "congratulations" when somebody celebrates a service anniversary, they don't use it.
So while I take his comment at face value and that perhaps the networking service has played out and may need to reinvent itself to become relevant again, I have no insight at all because of the environment I'm coming out of.
Anybody else here even been to the site?
