London Zoo proposal caught on CCTV

James Roberts, 27, told his girlfriend he had won a competition to get up close to the penguins at London Zoo – but surprised her by turning up dressed in a tuxedo.



Getting down on one knee amongst the black and white birds, Mr Roberts proposed to a delighted Michelle Rogers, 26, who immediately accepted.



The proposal took place on Valentine's Day before the zoo had opened to the public but was witnessed on a CCTV monitor by two female staff who inadvertently gave a running commentary of the event.



Both watched with bated breath, before declaring that they actually hated Valentine's Day.
