I've decided i am going to lose some weight.

Now, since i have been a vegetarian and now vegan i have lost around 10kg's, and that was steady over a year and never done anything different apart from not eating meat.

I'd love to lose another 10-15kg's and that would bring me down to about 70-80, which i think would be awesome, since i have been overweight for the past 4 years or so.

So, anyone suggest any tips, i can't afford a gym at this time, but what things do you know of, or have worked for you, obviously i can't change my diet anymore.

Thanks.

Don't eat or drink things that you shouldn't. I'm assuming you know whats good for you and what's not.

You don't need an expensive gym membership or have to buy home gym equipment. Just get down on the floor and do some press-ups, sit-ups, crunches, squats etc. Go for a run or walk. Do you have a pool, beach, lake or river nearby? Go for a swim.

I also have a beach near me, i love going down there. Just a little cold at the moment.

I used to barely be able to do 5 push ups. Now I'm able to do about 34+ continously. Aiming for about 75 by the end of the year.

Each night I do 2 sets of 34 push ups and 2 sets of 34 situps. Will be increasing it to 3 sets of each very soon.

I've been thinking about losing some weight, too. I'm going to start this week by doing this thing the basketball girls do in athletics. It's called gut check. They start off by doing somewhere between 5 and 10 pushups and then do the same amount of situps. The number goes down each time until you get to 0. So, like, 5 push ups, 5 sit ups, 4 push ups, 4 sit ups, 3 push ups, 3 sit ups, 2 push ups, 2 sit ups, 1 push up, 1 sit up.

I need to shed a couple pounds as well. We should start up a support group on here!

I used to do that too, but I found it to not be as effective as what I'm doing at the moment.

Yeah, isn't as effective as most other things, but I like doing it...changes up all the time...and I don't like to continuously do one thing without switching over.

I hate push ups.. I think my arms are strong enough..

The Paramedic in me is going to advise that before starting any exercise program check with your doctor first. When's the last time any of you who want to lose weight had a complete physical? Do you know you can have medical issues that you are unaware of? Doesn't matter what age group you are in you really should check with your doctor first.

While sit ups and push ups are great to make you stronger, the best and quickest way to burn fat is still cardio training. Going to run 3 times a week has done wonders for me and it doesn't take very long.

I started doing some at the start of last week, mainly some, Push-Ups, Sit-Ups, then some weights and some thing where you go down to the sitting down position then come back up, while holding weights so you gain mussel in your legs.

I'll keep you updated on how it goes.

You mean squats?

Sweet. I recently weighed my self, for the first time in about 5 months or so, it seems i am now dead on 80, i used to be about 95, so I've lost 15 kgs in the last 5 months, doesn't seem like much, but i haven't changed much apart from my diet.

Maybe lose another 10 and i will be happy.
