Is love at first sight possible? Why or Why Not?

I believe it can happen to some people. The feeling of being in love is produced by chemicals in your brain and I suppose great looks can release those chemicals. Though the chance of getting your heart broken is almost a 100% in that case, so I don't really see the romantic side of it.

When you only see someone that you have never met or heard of, you dont know their personality or anything else at all about the person. The only thing you could love or be attracted to is their looks which is lust. Love is a little bit more complicated than lusting after a stranger.

Well, I don't really believe in love at first sight. I suppose that you'll know who the right person is once you become friends with them and learn more about them.

There's a distinct difference between the feeling of love and lust though.

Note the part that I said: Its easy for people to confuse <--- Did I say every person on earth? The term people is word used to describe an in-general type situation. Had I wanted the message to come across that every person confuses lust or attraction for love, I would have said that.

Personally I think the feeling is completely different...

What about love at first date? So not exactly when you first see them, but after the first time you spend some 1 on 1 time with them?

I believe in sexual attraction at first sight. Without that feeling then what's the point in bothering to even get to know that person. Sure they can look sexy as hell but, for me, it's also what's inside that counts. IMO, love takes a long time and more than just one date. The building blocks to love for me are compatibility, trust, respect and commitment.

If the question were regarding animals then I would say it's absolutely possible. All of my rescue animals, I loved at first sight. They offer unconditional love. Shame more humans can't learn to love that that way.

Speaking from actual experience, I know it's possible. But it's also very foolish, and like already said:
