A Washington D.C. man has been told he cannot smoke in his own home.

A Superior Court judge issued a temporary order saying the man, nor anyone else, can smoke anything in his home.

Some say this is even more shocking in a city that recently legalized recreational marijuana use.

If Edwin Gray wants a smoke, he must go outside the home his family has owned for 50years.

“You want me to stop what I’ve been doing in my house, all my life?” Gray told WJLA.

“We were floored,” said Mozella Johnson, Gray’s sister.

Neighbors who moved in last year sued Gray, sying smoke from his home leaks into theirs via a hole in the basement.

“I think it’s an excellent precedent to start, so people can realize you can’t just ignore your neighbor,” said Benny Kass, a real estate attorney and Washington Post columnist. “Your home is no longer your castle.”

In addition to the injunction, their lawsuit asks for $500,000 in damages.

Johnson said he plans to fight the order.

Its bullshit. If people did that to me that I was letting stay in my home. I would drop kick their asses out followed by the words fuck and you. Its shit like this that really pisses me off. Who cares if you're a tenant or not. If you're in someone else's house, rent or not. You still don't own it nor should gripe and bitch about what the owner does. Don't like it? than get the fuck out.
