A stubborn father-to-be hell-bent on naming his son Spyridon has launched an online petition as part of a baby name battle with his wife.
To be fair, Kseniya makes a good point: She doesn’t want to name her child something she can’t pronounce.
But the 33-year-old mother-to-be, who wants to call her son Michael instead, says she’ll settle for 100,000 signature before she changes her mind.
Part of the petition reads: ‘This Petition was established by Nicholas Constantine Soukeras as an outcry for the right, privilege and authority, under God and in accordance of the laws of the Greek Orthodox Church and in the tradition of all Hellenic peoples throughout the world, to name his first-born son Spyridon after the petitioner’s father, Spyridon Hristos Soukeras.’
The petition goes into immense detail about the contract they’ve drawn up together.
One clause reads: ‘Point 3: The petitioner has agreed that if the aforementioned heir is born male, all rights to the naming of the child’s middle name are hers.’
