ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — A Schenectady man pleaded guilty to five counts of receiving and attempting to receive child sexual abuse images and videos on Thursday. According to the Department of Justice (DOJ), Richard Nejame, 29, threatened girls to send him sexually explicit pictures and videos while pretending to be a teenage boy.
Per the DOJ, Nejame admitted that between October 2022 and May 1, 2023, he contacted several underage girls over social media pretending to be a teenage boy and encouraged them to take and send nude pictures and videos of themselves. Once he received the videos or pictures, Nejame would tell the girls to take more sexually explicit ones.
Nejame also admitted to threatening the girls who did not comply that he would embarrass them and expose them by publishing their images online.
Nejame faces five to 20 years in prison.
