A Californian man who says he accidentally stole a cat while drunk posted an ad on Craigslist hoping to find its owners.

The cat-napper says in the ad that he thought the cat, Django, was a stray, but then noticed the next morning he had a collar.

The ad says: "If anyone is missing a cat name Django (pronounced Jango the D is silent) I stole him last night.

"Not on purpose, I was extremely intoxicated and thought he was just some random stray I was rescuing.

"It was not until this morning when I was haphazardly going for a glass of water that I remembered I took the cat and noticed that he (had) a collar.

"Django is a very frisky black cat, he also has very sleepy eyes and appears to be stoned although I don't think he is."

The man apologised for stealing the cat and added that he had been feeding him cheese.

What an idiot! Placing this cat on Craigslist and giving out all the information about the cat, leaves this cat open to anyone claiming it. Should have taken the cat to the nearest animal shelter. Oh and btw, idiot, cats eat cat food NOT cheese! :@

 ...Maybe there should have been an information tag attached to that collar with a phone number or address. Any cat I ever had always had one.
