Sky sources have said manager Roberto Mancini will be sacked by Manchester City.

The development comes a day after Manchester City suffered a shock defeat in the FA Cup final, losing 1-0 to Wigan at Wembley.

The defeat meant a trophy-less campaign for the big-spending team.

City exited the Champions League in the group stage for the second successive season, and fell behind Manchester United in the Premier League race, with United eventually winning the title with four games to go.

Reports over the past days said Malaga's Manuel Pellegrini had been approached to replace Mancini.

Sky's Sports Correspondent Paul Kelso said the timing of Mancini's departure was not yet clear.

The Italian took over in December 2009. He led City to an FA Cup victory in 2011 and to the Premier League title last year.

To any Manchester City fans: Do you think he should be sacked?

Just because Man City spent a ton of money to turn a losing team into one of the greatest, it does not guarantee an FA Cup for winning the playoffs of the English Premier League.

I don't agree with the firing of Mancini.

I'm not a man city fan but I do watch EPL football a lot. There's a lot of pressure on managers at man city, especially now with all their money. He hasn't done that great a job this year, but I don't think he should be fired.
